Honours Ayrton Senna with fitting tribute

Lewis Hamilon, McLaren Racing and Honda paid tribute to F1® great Ayrton Senna as he was given the honour of driving the iconic McLaren MP4/5B for several laps at the FORMULA 1 GRANDE PRÊMIO DE SÃO PAULO 2024.
It was a special moment for Lewis Hamilton and one that he has praised as the greatest honour of his F1® career. The British driver paid tribute to a legend of the sport on the 30th anniversary of his passing by driving Senna's 1990 title winnig MP4/5B in front of an adoring home crowd. An emotional moment for all involved as the British driver made his way around the Autódromo José Carlos Pace circuit. Hamilton was handed the Brazilian flag and lifted it high as he drove around the track to cross the chequered flag.

Das in Enstone ansässige Team überraschte das restliche Feld mit einer unglaublichen Leistung und holte sich die Plätze zwei und drei an einem ereignisreichen Rennwochenende, das alles zu bieten schien. Die Fahrer Esteban Ocon und Pierre Gasly starteten das Rennen auf den Plätzen drei und 13 und zeigten beide eine unglaubliche Fahrt, die ein historisierendes Ergebnis für das BWT Alpine F1® Team sicherte. Ocon, der das Rennen zeitweise anführte, beendete das Rennen auf Platz zwei und Gasly gewann mit einer sensationellen Fahrt einen Platz und holte sich Platz drei. Dies war der erste doppelte Podiumsplatz für das Enstone-Team seit 2013 und das erste Mal seit 1997, dass sich zwei französische Fahrer ein Podium teilten.
